If you need anything during your stay, our Front Desk is open 24 hours a day! Stop by the desk, call from your in-room phone, or dial 785-336-3663 to reach staff if they are away from the desk.

  • Golf eighteen beautiful and challenging holes at Spring Creek Golf Course.

  • Go to a movie at Seneca Twin Theatre or enjoy a night of bowling at 36 Alleys.

  • Enjoy and shop Seneca's historic downtown and Highway 36 businesses.

  • Explore our Museums and enjoy our Historical Downtown Walking tour.

  • Enjoy a meal or sweet treat at one of our local restaurants.

Hotel Rules
  1. ​NO SMOKING. Our hotel is 100% smoke-free! All guests can utilize our outside smoking area east of the front entrance.
     

  2. NO PETS. We're sorry, but we don't allow pets in our hotel. Kennels are available at nearby businesses. Registered ADA Service Animals are permitted but MUST be declared at check-in.
     

  3. REGISTERED GUESTS. We ask that all guests staying in a hotel room be accounted for at the Front Desk. This is for our safety and yours in case of an evacuation emergency.
     

  4. PARTIES. Our hotel is a wonderful place to gather, but we do not allow loud parties in our rooms, public spaces, or outside areas. We appreciate your cooperation!

Telephone

All rooms have direct dial phones for local and toll free calls. Dialing information is also listed on the telephone for your convenience. All local and toll free calls are complimentary. Sorry, we do not allow long distance calls from our hotel phones.

Guest Laundry

Our guest laundry room is located on the east end of the second floor. Both machines are coin-operated and take quarters only. If you need quarters, the Front Desk staff can assist you with change. We also have laundry detergent pods available for a small fee.

Swimming Pool

Our swimming pool is open from 7:00 A.M. to Midnight and is available for registered hotel guests only. Guests must follow the posted rules located on the door and in the pool room. These rules are in place for everyone's safety.

Air Conditioning & Heating

For maximum efficiency, please keep windows and doors closed. Controls are located on the front panel of each room's wall unit. Guests can set their unit to their preference for comfort. We also have small table top fans available at the Front Desk if you need one.

Complimentary Items & Items for Purchase

The hotel has complimentary toothbrushes, razors, and combs available upon request at the Front Desk. We also have a small supply of feminine products and children's pullups/diapers should you need something in a pinch. Lastly, we have items to purchase: small travel packs that include shampoo, conditioner, body wash and deodorant, earplugs, and laundry detergent pods. Please stop by the Front Desk if you have any questions or need anything listed.

Complimentary Breakfast

​Breakfast includes sausage patties, egg entree, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereals, granola, pastries, yogurt, fruit, grab-and-go breakfast items, milk, juice, tea, and coffee. It is served daily from 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Guests are welcome to invite friends or family to the hotel for breakfast for a fee of $10 per adult and $5 for children. Please stop by the front desk to alert staff and pay. Advance notice is appreciated!

Free WI-FI

Our hotel is happy to provide our guests with free high-speed wireless fiberoptic internet! Please note that high-bandwidth devices are subject to restrictions, and management has the right to disable devices that are abusing our service.

  • Check-out by 11 A.M.

  • If you require a late check-out, you MUST have prior approval from the Front Desk staff.

  • Drop off key cards at the front desk.

  • Invoices will automatically be sent by email.

  • Printed invoices are available upon request.

Vending & Ice Machines

All vending machines and our ice machine are located on the first floor at the east end of the hallway, just before the guest restroom and pool room. Please talk to the Front Desk staff if you need change or assistance with any of these machines, they will be happy to assist you.

Safekeeping of Valuables

Altenhofen Inn & Suites is not responsible for the loss of money, jewelry, or personal property left unattended by guests in their room or automobile. We currently do not offer safes in rooms or at the Front Desk for guests' use. Please plan accordingly.

Pillows & Blankets

To help you get a good night's sleep, we have a variety of pillows available at the Front Desk: foam, feather, and alternative down. We also have extra blankets should you need one.

Safety & Security

SAFETY & SECURITY PROCEDURES: Enjoying your stay is of the utmost importance! To promote greater safety for you and the security of your personal property, we urge you to take advantage of the following suggestions: 
DEADBOLT LOCKS: Upon entering your room, use the deadbolt provided on your door. This will prevent the door from being opened by a regular room key. As an additional precaution, please secure the safety chain lock. 
ADMITTANCE TO ROOM: Do not open your door or admit persons to your room without positively identifying them. Use the "peephole" provided in your door for your convenience. Contact the front desk if there is any doubt about the person's true identity. 
ROOM KEY CARDS: Please safeguard your room key cards. Upon departure, be sure to leave the key cards with the Front Desk clerk. Please do not leave it in the door, and do not give your key cards to others. 

Fire Tips
  • Never smoke or cook in your room.

  • Always unplug personal electrical appliances, such as irons, hair dryers, and curling irons

PLEASE PLAN AHEAD:

  • In case of fire, smoke may reduce visibility, so plan.

  • Study the emergency evacuation route.

  • Determine the location of the nearest exits, fire alarms, and extinguishing equipment.

  • Count the number of doors between your door and the exit door.

  • Keep your room key readily available.

IN CASE OF FIRE:

  • If you detect a fire, pull the nearest fire alarm. If you can safely do so, notify the hotel front desk.

  • Then move quickly but calmly to the nearest exit.

  • If you hear an alarm, DON'T PANIC; remain calm, take the key, and go to the door of your room.

  • If your room is smoky, get on your hands and knees and crawl to the door.Feel the door and the doorknob; if it's HOT, DO NOT open the door; if it is cool, open it slowly.

  • If the hallway is smoky, get on your hands and knees, stay next to the wall, and count the doors as you crawl to the exit.

  • Take your room key with you so you can crawl back to your room if the exit is unavailable.

  • (remembering the number of doors between your door and the exit)

  • Meet at the front by the Altenhofen Inn & Suites sign if the hotel is evacuated.

IF YOU CAN NOT LEAVE THE ROOM:

  • Call the front desk and let them know where you are.

  • Fill the bathtub and sink with cold water for firefighting.

  • Wet your sheets, towels, or clothing, and stuff them in all cracks around doors and vents.

  • Using an ice bucket or other container, keep doors and walls wet.

  • Check to see if there is smoke outside the window; if there is no smoke, hang a sheet of light-colored material outside if the window can be opened.

  • Make yourself visible to rescue personnel through any window; DO NOT JUMP.

  • If your room is smoky, fold a wet towel in a triangle and tie it over your nose and mouth; stay low.

Tornado Warning

You are located in Seneca, Kansas, 66538, in Nemaha County.

  • In the event of a tornado warning, our guests on upper levels should leave their guest rooms and relocate to the lowest level hallway of the building, keeping away from any windows or glass doors.

  • Guests on the first floor should remain in their bathroom with the door closed.

  • All guests should remain in these areas until the local emergency communications system has sounded an "all clear" or when the local radio and television stations report that the tornado warning has been lifted.
